چکیده

Objectives To evaluate the feasibility of ΔP and Pplat continuous monitoring during volume (VCV) and pressure (PCV) controlled ventilation, we compared with gold standard (occlusion maneuvers at end-inspiration and end-expiration) two different methods: 1Least Square Fitting (LSF) method that provide maneuver-free Pplat and ΔP values; 2Mini Occlusion (MO) method by performing brief occlusion maneuvers.

Applications of pressure control ventilation volume guaranteed during one-lung ventilation in thoracic surgery.

OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of ventilatory mode "pressure controlled ventilation-volume guaranteed" (PCV-VG) on the inspiratory pressures, oxygenation parameters and hemodynamics of patients during one lung ventilation (OLV) for thoracic surgery, compared with volume controlled ventilation (VCV). METHODS Twenty participants were recruited and equally assigned into two groups in a control...

Managed Pressure Drilling Using Integrated Process Control

Control of wellbore pressure during drilling operations has always been important in the oil industry as this can prevent the possibility of well blowout. The present research employs a combination of automatic process control and statistical process control for the first time for the identification, monitoring, and control of both random and special causes in drilling operations. To this end, ...

Data on respiratory variables in critically ill patients with acute respiratory failure placed on proportional assist ventilation with load adjustable gain factors (PAV+)

The data show respiratory variables in 108 critically ill patients with acute respiratory failure placed on proportional assist ventilation with load adjustable gain factors (PAV+) after at least 36 h on passive mechanical ventilation. PAV+ was continued for 48 h until the patients met pre-defined criteria either for switching to controlled modes or for breathing without ventilator assistance. ...

Optimal plateau pressure for patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome: a protocol for a systematic review and meta-analysis with meta-regression

INTRODUCTION Lower tidal volume ventilation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) is a strategy to reduce the plateau pressure and driving pressure to limit ventilator-induced lung injury (VILI). Several randomised controlled trials (RCTs) and meta-analyses showed that limiting both the plateau pressure and the tidal volume decreased mortality, but the optimal plateau pres...

Comparison of pressure vs. volume controlled ventilation on oxygenation parameters of obese patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy

Background & Objective There is no special guideline for the best ventilation mode during laparoscopic anesthesia in obese patients and there are too many studies with different controversial points. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of pressure controlled ventilation (PCV) vs. volume controlled ventilation (VCV) on respiratory and oxygenation parameters in patients undergoing lap...
